Ants: What You Need to Know

Ant Exterminator Texas | Guardian Mosquito and Pest Control

Ants are small, social insects that live in large colonies or nests. They can be found almost everywhere, from homes and gardens to forests and fields. Ants play important roles in ecosystems, helping with tasks like seed dispersal and decomposing organic matter. However, when they invade your home or business, they can become a nuisance, especially if they are searching for food or water.

These pests are highly organized and can quickly infiltrate kitchens, bathrooms, and other areas where food is stored. Ants are often attracted to sugary substances, crumbs, and spills. While most ants are harmless, some species, like fire ants, can pose a danger with painful stings. If you’re dealing with an ant infestation, it’s important to act quickly. A professional ant exterminator in texas can help identify the source of the problem and implement effective treatments to eliminate the infestation.

Common Types of Ants We Address

Ants are social insects belonging to the family Formicidae, with over 12,000 known species worldwide. While there are many types of ants, only a few species commonly invade human habitats and pose a threat as pests. Below are some common and notable types of ants in Texas that we address

How Ants Make Their Way Into Your Home?

Ants in the Kitchen | Guardian Mosquito and Pest Control

Ants typically invade your house in search of food, water, or shelter. Once they find a reliable food source, they create a trail that leads other ants to the same spot, resulting in an infestation.

Cracks and Gaps:

Ants can enter through tiny cracks in walls, windows, or doors, often unnoticed.

Food Attraction:

Sweet or greasy food left out attracts ants, who follow the scent trail back to their colony.

Moisture:

Ants are drawn to areas with moisture, such as bathrooms, kitchens, and leaky pipes.

Landscaping:

Overgrown shrubs or tree branches can act as a bridge for ants to enter your home from the outside.

Openings Around Utilities:

Utility lines like plumbing, electrical, and gas connections provide easy entry points for ants to enter your home.

Out of nowhere started getting bit by something. This went on for almost a week and could not find anything in my house that was causing it. Finally found what I thought was a couple bed bugs. Started looking around and ended up calling these folks. Bill answered the phone on a Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. told him what was going on we talked a lot about bed bugs and he said he could have someone come out immediately. Send him a picture of one of the little bugs and he called me back and said it was not a bed bug, it looked like a carpet beetle. He explained to me a way where I could treat the problem myself without having to pay for one of his guys to come out. This type of customer service is nearly impossible to find any more. I let him know that and told him I would like to support his business, send the tech. Within an hour Trey showed up fully prepared to take care of everything. Took him about 90 minutes. He was very professional and respectful of my house and dogs. It's been 3 days now and no more bites, and I am no longer expecting to get bit, job well done. Honest, great communicators, very efficient and effective solution. Thank you!!
